Peter Farley recently returned from Seascape’s Deer Island base in the Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick, Canada. He writes, "For those not familiar with this area, we’re talking eastern Canada right above Maine. This was my second trip with Seascape Kayak Tours, the first having been to Costa Rica in January 2010, where I experienced my first KaYoga retreat (yes that’s kayaking and yoga as complementary exercises – not Yoga IN a kayak – that’s a whole different story)."

As the Facebook winner of the Sunset Trip for Two Kayak Adventure from Deer Island, I feel so lucky to have been part of the contest – and then to win, was just wonderful.

My husband and I took our trip on Friday, July 30th. The day was perfect for kayaking with minimal winds, sunny and warm. Bruce and Katinka prepared our group for the adventure with paddling instruction, basic rules for sea kayaking and a look at the maps of our various points of interest. We were honored to have the company of porpoises, several seals and sea birds and a family of eagles. We enjoyed a light snack served on the beach and got to meet and talk to our co-paddlers. Bruce and Katinka were able to answer any questions thrown at them and were very informative of the nature and environment in and around the Bay of Fundy. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend Seascape Kayak Tours to everyone. We are talking about a potential trip to Costa Rica with Seascape to explore the waterways there....Thank you so much for this unique opportunity. We had a lovely time!

17-year old Shana Wallace interned with Seascape on Deer Island in the Bay of Fundy for a week in July. She had an encounter she will never forget, and took time out from her preparations for a busy year in 12th grade not far from New York City, where she is one of the presidents of the environmental club, to tell you about it.

July 2nd was a beautiful, sunny and memorable day of my vacation to Canada. We paddled near Bean Island and saw schools of harbor porpoises, harbor seals with doe eyes popping up their heads and gazing at us, and an adult Eagle and its young perched high in a pine tree. Half way on our tour, we stopped at a beach and got a chance to explore. Bruce promptly prepared a small picnic with tea, crackers and cheese along with an appetizing fresh fruit plate topped off with a spiny green sea urchin shell. Bruce's stories and his in-depth knowledge of his environment and the sea wildlife made our trip enjoyable. I highly recommend a sea kayak tour with Bruce and his associates. I am planning another trip up to Canada and will certainly book another sea kayak tour with Seascape. Epic!

I sincerely want to thank all the fabulous folks at Seascape for making our trip to Deer Island so extraordinary. I greatly appreciated the attention to safety and the extreme knowledge of the guides. From beautiful scenery, to interesting and thought provoking conversation, to delicious food: there is nobody who does guided kayaking better. If you really want to experience New Brunswick, then a day on the water with Seascape is an absolute must. Thanks so much for everything!

"Anne and I just wanted to say thank you again. The sunset kayak trip was the highlight of our trip to New Brunswick. We were happy that we got to see the eagles, harbor porpoise and seals and the scenery too. That the other two couples were so nice added to our experience and we look forward to them e-mailing the pictures to us.

Once again, thank you for a wonderful experience and you can rest assured that I will be letting some friends who kayak know about Seascape Kayak Tours."

"Paddling the Baja coast is a 'must-do' trip for any kayaker, however being able to travel through the area with our Seascape friends greatly enriched the adventure. Once again, Seascape's focus on creating an experience that immerses their clients in the wonders of an area's spectacular natural environment and complex cultural communities formed the core elements of the first SeaStar trip. Challenging 'push' days were mixed appropriately with 'lighter' days that allowed for exploration and relaxation. The Seascape guides were superb, the food plentiful and nutritious, and the paddling locale was awe-inspiring! Looking forward to the next SeaStar adventure!"
